Not sure if I should make a correction of not but the first post said endo 620, not endo 602. Endo makes a Selegiline Hydrochloride with an imprint of 620 on it but I have no clue as to what Selegiline Hydrochloride is. Hope this helps.

you are very RIGHT to make corrections, it was my mistake in misreading the post.
In my databases I have found an Endo pill marked E620
Imprint Code: E620
Drug/Strength/Manufacturer: Selegiline Hydrochloride 5mg - Carbex - Endo
Description: Tablet Coated
but no Endo 620. The rep at Endo was not aware of any pill stamped "endo620", so my guess is that the first post was either a typo or the med is foreign. If the pictured endocet 602 is not the correct pill, Alexia, please let us know so we can sort out this mystery.

If it turns out to be Selegiline, it is a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor that is specific for the MAO-B isozyme. Selegiline is effective in treating parkinsonian patients who develop fluctuations in response to chronic levodopa therapy and require maximum doses of the drug. The agent will allow lower doses of levodopa to be administered either alone or in combination with peripheral decarboxylase inhibitors. Selegiline may also be effective in delaying the need to initiate levodopa therapy in the early stage of Parkinson's disease. Selegiline has also shown some benefit in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Hey Mimilou,
Im' somewhat off-topic ... and certainly not my area of expertise, but a less expensive alternative that I have heard about for Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome in Dogs (CDS) is the B vitamin supplement Cholodin-R. Cholodin-R contains the B vitamin choline, phosphatidylcholine, methionine and inositol.
Studies suggested that supplementation with the B vitamin choline supplement Cholodin-R was useful for reversing signs and/or prevention of Alzheimer's disease in dogs and cats.

Thanks, T, I will check it out. Buddy's dose isn't too expensive because he is only 6 pounds, but since he thinks he is the energizer bunny (at 16) I want to keep him going as long as possible.
